Bhavapriya - A Carnatic composition in the Bhavapriya Rāga #
This is a piece I composed based on the Bhavapriya Raga, which is the 44th Melakarta Raga in the South Indian Carnatic style, and is a raga believed to be dear to Lord Shiva. The composition blends the carnatic style with western instruments to produce an expressive upbeat rendering. I recorded the piece on three separate tracks playing the guitar, the piano (in electric organ mode), and the flute separately, and then layered them together with a fourth track of electronically synthesized drums.
